The Mistley Kitchen workshops take place in a purpose-built
state of the art kitchen at Acacia House; an elegant Grade II listed townhouse in the
Georgian port village of Mistley on the Essex-Suffolk borders.
The kitchen is a large and splendid room, custom designed and
well equipped with top of the range American appliances from Viking and Amana
as well as an Earthstone wood-fired baking oven from France.
Demonstration workshops include coffee or wine on arrival,
a specially compiled recipe sheet and lots of tastings (the equivalent of a light
lunch or supper) of the dishes demonstrated.

There is ample space for up to 14 students for the hands-on
workshops and for up to 15 when we have demonstrations and seminars. In the workshops we
create dishes using the finest of seasonal ingredients, with a special emphasis on
locally grown produce. When possible, we make every effort to buy organic products and to
support small local businesses. Hands-on and interactive workshops run approximately 4 hours
and include coffee or tea and home-made biscuits on arrival, a specially compiled recipe
sheet, demonstrations, a sit down meal that the students have prepared and house wine.
