Beginners Pastry with Marcia Barrington

Does your pastry misbehave, crack and shrink after baking? Would you like to master the basics of fail-proof pastry? Then this class is for you.
Starting with enriched shortcrust, you’ll begin the session by making seasonal asparagus tarts and pastry cases filled with local crab and saffron cream.Next, you’ll move on to make a sweet, freeform rhubarb and almond galette with ginger vanilla pastry. Then, master a new skill by making herb and goat’s cheese gougères, and finish the session with your own pile of little choux buns filled with decadent chocolate ice cream, warm chocolate sauce and hazelnut brittle. (Recipes subject to change depending on ingredient availability)
Tea and coffee will be available on your arrival and soft drinks will be available throughout the day. Lunch will be served with wine and/or soft drinks.
